Finally found an awesome place to work. I have been blessed to find such a killer group of peeps to work with and enjoy it so much. I don't have to hide my tats and we all have a great time. Plus I get to hang out with cats all day!

Learning to tattoo

My long term goal of being a tattoo artist has been put on the back burner for so long. I would love to have the time and connections to be an apprentice at some fabulous shop, but alas, that isn't in the cards so far. So, since I acquired the equipment, I haven't done much with it. Mostly for fear of fucking someone up by not knowing what the hell I am doing.

After practicing on fruits and fake skin, I did some initials on a friend a few months ago, which required a touch-up session and yesterday I did another; a set of boxing gloves on string. Getting used to the machine is the hardest part, there are tons of adjustments and figuring them out without some advise has been somewhat difficult. I am still learning and having a good time with it.

What was I thinking?

This was a lame goal so I am removing it. Joining a gym has nothing to do with being healthy. As if I don’t have something better to spend $ on? Yeah I want to be fit, but I know how to walk and own free weights, sooo…???

While messing around here at work, I stumbled upon wikimapia. At first it seems just like Google Earth, but you can tag places. I was able to enter any description and comments. I put my address, the little country store down the road, some farms, landmarks, etc. I think it's super cool... You will too!

To be free from some of the stuff that drags us down and the schedules that cause us not to spend time with one another is awesome. I have made great strides in this direction, nobody’s perfect, but it’s a noticable change from how I was before. Seems that most people think I am crazy, because my children and I live in a tiny house with a tiny bit of furniture etc. and not many fancy extras. I spend such a small amount of time having to maintain my “stuff” that I feel it’s worth it. Live Simply!

* Think for yourself
* Turn off your TV
* Write a letter to a prisoner
* Grow your own food
* Have your neighbors over for dinner
* Consume less
* Share your car
* Go to a rally against the death penalty. Talk to your friends and neighbors about the death penalty and how you can stop it.
* Advocate that your community spend less money on police
* On summer nights, hang out on the front porch of your house and talk to your neighbors. If you don't have a porch, stand out in the yard. Better yet, build a porch, and get rid of your lawnmower.
* Research your local corporations and find out what they do and how they affect your community
* Start your own pirate radio station. Get you friends and neighbors involved
* Boycott corporate bookstores like Borders and Barnes & Noble. Support your local independent bookstore, or, if you don't have one, start your own
* Don't cross picket lines
* Pick up all of the trash from McDonalds in your hood and then return it to the nearest store

* Buy a cop a bagel. Talk to them about finding a new line of work.
* Let the air of of police car tires
* Eat less meat, or try switching to a vegetarian or vegan diet

* Fight against gated communities in your town. If one already exists, find creative ways to ridicule it
* Organize the workers in your workplace into a union. Then fire your bosses.
* Compost your kitchen leftovers
* Start a Food Not Bombs chapter in your town
* Don't vote
* Fill those annoying "business reply" envelopes with anarchist literature and send them back; you'll make some bored mail room employee happy.
* Support radical environmentalist groups like Earth First!
* Oppose new highway construction in your town.
* Take the bus.
* Join the IWW (Industrial Workers of the World)
* Spend some time hanging out with old people.
* Oppose the construction of new super box strip malls.
* Don't let people tell you how to live
* Be a person, not a personality
* Learn to create the things you need instead of buying them at a store.
* Organize an affinity group and start an anarchist zine.
* Pass out leaflets in your area to bring awareness about issues that matter to you.
